Warehouse and Logistics Manager

Reporting into the VP of Operations the Warehouse and Logistics Manager will be a working leader driving strategic and day to day management over the warehouse, shipping/receiving, traffic, material movement through the facilities, cycle count program, and facilities management.  The Warehouse and Logistics Manager is an individual with experience working in a small company environment with a proactive, engaged approach.

Essential Duties:   

  • Develop team, processes, and overall functions of ownership to align with growth of company.
  • Develop and implement a strategy driving continuous improvement around material flow, layout, inventory management, and visual management.
  • Drive/Implement KPI’s to manage the success of respective functional areas.
  • Actively engage with shipping carriers to build out routing guide based on reliability, cost, and quality.
  • Partner with internal customers to ensure we are meeting customer expectations and expedite requests as necessary.
  • Understand daily demand to effectively manage capacity and set daily/weekly expectations and goals.
  • Own overall facilities inclusive of security; scheduling/managing recurring tasks, proactive supplier selection and management, and day to day site management.
  • Cross train resources within the organization to support required backup support, increased demand support, and/or career development.
  • Ensure compliance with regards to all shipments.
  • Manage stock accuracy and FIFO processes.
  • Manage functional area cleanliness & 5S.
  • Lead and be actively engaged in team development around driving root cause on cycle count variances, customer complaints tied to shipping, and the corrective action process respective to your functional area.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams driving favorable business results.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong continuous improvement / lean background and be able to utilize that skillset to improve customer and business metrics.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and complete assignments with limited instruction.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail.

Experience:

  • 5+ years in a manufacturing setting with experience in inventory management, shipping, and warehousing.
  • Experience with ERP systems & inventory management required.  Oracle Netsuite a plus.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement concepts a plus.
  • Experience with Hazardous materials management preferred.
  • Current driver’s license and safe drivers record required.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in business management or administration, logistics, operations, or a similar discipline.
